Product Care
Indoor Teak
Please keep your pieces out of direct sunlight to avoid fading or discolouration. Our indoor pieces are sealed with a matte water base finish so it is not necessary to oil your pieces. This finish will already preserve the wood. If oiled with a supermarket processed solvent the teak will become reliant on the manual oil application and slow its own natural oiling process, which in turn will weaken the wood’s durability if left unmaintained. Instead wipe down any spills or dust with a lightly damp clean cloth.
We do recommend O'Cedar Furniture Polish to revive the natural beauty of your wood. Easy to apply, this polish can conceal scratches, remove stains and prevent drying and cracking, leaving a smear-free finish without any waxy build up. This can be purchased from most local hardware stores.
If your product does encounter direct sun exposure we recommend re-applying a light coat of a good quality Water Base Sealer yearly in order to prolong and protect the colour of the wood. This can be purchased from most local hardware stores.
Due to the organic nature of teak wood each piece will vary slightly in colour and pigment. Slight cracking may appear in the grain of the wood, this is regarded as a natural characteristic of teak rather than a flaw. If you wish to fill the wood in with putty we recommend a medium to dark brown colour to blend in with the natural tones of the wood.
The rattan used in our teak pieces will also vary in colour due to its natural composition. Wipe down any spills or dust with a lightly damp clean cloth.
Outdoor Teak
Preserve the golden-honey pigment of your teak pieces by applying a teak outdoor sealer, this will not only preserve the colour but will also protect the wood from the suns harsh rays and will prevent the growth of mildew. We recommend applying a light coat of the sealer with a soft cloth or brush yearly or as needed.
Linen
We recommend applying a scotch guard to the fabric before initial use to protect the fabric from any accidental stains. Spot clean fabric sofas as required with a clean white damp cloth. We recommend a professional clean every year to keep your linen looking fresh.
Leather
Wipe down any spills immediately with a clean dry cloth. Over time the colour of your leather pieces will naturally age. We do not regard this as a flaw, rather a feature of the organic nature of leather.
